The crop looks good for this season. We usually have good to excellent picking, because we have organized picking. Local honey, and jam, are usually available. We accept cash and checks but not credit cards or food stamps. We have boxes to purchase or you are welcome to bring your own containers to take your berries home. Picnic tables are shaded by giant oak trees. Sanitation regulations no longer allow dogs in the field. Enjoy a pleasant day in the country while getting a supply of delicious and healthful Blueberries.
Directions: From I94: We are on County Road 1000 North just 4 miles from LaPorte Rd. exit of I94 (first exit in Michigan and exit for Four Winds Casino). From the exit, turn right (south) on Hwy 239 and cross into Indiana. After crossing into Indiana, turn right on the first paved road (1000 N). Go 1.3 miles on 1000 N to the farm. From the Indiana Toll Road (I80&90): turn right (north) on Hwy 39 and go about 6 miles to County Road 1000 N. Turn left and go 1.3 miles to the farm.
We are open but there are not many ripe berries. Excellent picking conditions on July 4th, 6th and 7th brought many customers. By closing time today (Saturday, July 7th) most ripe berries had been picked. If you can wait about next Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday ( July 12-15th) picking should be good again. You will be able to find some berries before then but not good picking. We do have honey and preserves.
Call before you come for the latest weather and picking conditions.
We are open daily 8 am to 6 pm except closed on Tuesdays. The crop is good and there will be many large, ripe, sweet berries to be picked.
Call (219) 326-8686 for current weather conditions and other information.
