Blueberries of Indiana
The crop has been good in 2019. We usually have good to excellent picking, because we have organized picking. Local honey, and jam, are usually available. We accept cash and checks but not credit cards or food stamps. We have boxes to purchase or you are welcome to bring your own containers to take your berries home. Picnic tables are shaded by giant oak trees. Sanitation regulations no longer allow dogs in the field. Enjoy a pleasant day in the country while getting a supply of delicious and healthful Blueberries.
Directions: From I94: We are on County Road 1000 North just 4 miles from LaPorte Rd. exit of I94 (first exit in Michigan and exit for Four Winds Casino). From the exit, turn right (south) on Hwy 239 and cross into Indiana. After crossing into Indiana, turn right on the first paved road (1000 N). Go 1.3 miles on 1000 N to the farm. From the Indiana Toll Road (I80&90): turn right (north) on Hwy 39 and go about 6 miles to County Road 1000 N. Turn left and go 1.3 miles to the farm.
There is still good picking on several varieties. Berries are not as large as earlier but adequate rain/irrigation has made the berries larger than usual for this time of year. And there are some large berries. Berry flavor is unusually good this year. Not much time left this season. There are also picked berries of these delicious varieties. We also still have honey, preserves and soap (yes blueberry soap)
As in past years we expect to be open daily 8 am to 6 pm except closed on Tuesdays.
